to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we ask that
letters include name, address, and phone number. The Cook County News-Herald may withhold a name to protect a letter writer, but will never run a letter
without knowing the identity of the author. Anonymous submissions or letters of
questionable credibility will not be published or acknowledged.
The Cook County News-Herald also asks that letters be no longer than 350 words,
however at the editor’s discretion, longer submissions may be published. All
letters are subject to editing for length, clarity, and libelous content.
Canoe races a success
July 15 was a cool, cloudy and windy day but the Gunflint Trail Canoe Races went on with paddlers, workers and attendees flexible dealing with the weather. The gunnel pumpers bounced on the waves and long distance paddlers had to really dig. Once again it was a great celebration of the northland's canoeing tradition. Full Story
Oberstar vote doesn't benefit NE Minnesota
