Monday, July 27 1:02 a.m., Tofte: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.
10:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of people camping illegally at the end of Old Shore Road on the beach, where it is posted "No Camping." The caller said there was garbage all over the area, and toilet paper in the woods and trees (no facilities there), and half-melted glass in the fire ring. A deputy and DNR officer responded and found the no dumping sign but not the no camping sign. The parties were allowed to stay there as long as they clean up all the garbage. A new no camping sign will be posted.
5:01 p.m., Lutsen: Report of Ski Hill employees riding ATVs on the roadway against the ordinance.
6:00 p.m., Colvill: Report of an asphalt crew asking people if they needed any work done. The caller said he remembered problems last year. "Asphalt Crew by Christopher Joels" was written on the truck.
8:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
Tuesday, July 28
7:13 a.m., Tofte: Burglar alarm set off at a gift shop. Determined to be false.
9:55 a.m., Lutsen: Vandalism of a boat engine reported.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about an abandoned boat left at N. Loon Lake Road.
11:46 a.m., Tofte: DNR notified of an injured loon on Caribou Trail.
12:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Driving conduct complaint on a Border Patrol vehicle.
3:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a 19-year-old female had alcohol and was driving without a license.
4:28 p.m., Lutsen: Business received a counterfeit $100 bill.
5:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Moose struck by a vehicle on the Gunflint Trail just south of Lullaby Creek.
7:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported that someone pulled out the valve stem on his bicycle and threw it into the woods near the Community Center.
9:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a gray vehicle was driving about 35 mph on the highway with no lights on.
9:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to check on a van parked at Lace Lake with license tabs that expired in 2004.
10:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested a deputy to tell some kids at the skate park that they need to go home.
Wednesday, July 29
8:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Social Services was notified after a motorist saw a young child in a diaper walking down the middle of the road at 6th Avenue West and 3rd Street. The caller said the child walked through the intersection, and he (caller) was able to get the boy off the road and into the grass above the courthouse to wait for a deputy.
9:01 a.m., Grand Marais: State Patrol notified after the occupants of a vehicle threw litter out the window and almost hit a flag person on the road.
12:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of services investigation.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident at the recycling center. No injuries.
2:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a teen-aged male standing near Boulder Park looking out into the water, and holding what appeared to be a gun.
4:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a group of kids on bikes riding recklessly around town.
6:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that he had been out of town for a couple of days and had two weed whippers for sale in his yard. When he returned one of them was missing but had been replaced with an old junky one.
Thursday, July 30
1:30 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of an underage drinking party at Red Rock Beach.
5:18 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle overturned in the ditch off Ski Hill Road. There was a lot of damage, but no one around.
9:43 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested at the Port of Entry to cite a party there with possession of marijuana.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Dispute between two customers at Holiday. Both cited for disorderly conduct.
5:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two suspicious men trying to make people pay for parking behind City Hall. A deputy checked the area, but didn't find them.
6:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an 8-year-old boy riding a Yamaha on Wahlstrom Road, speeding and not wearing a helmet. A deputy spoke with the boy and his father.
9:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was following a suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that just occurred on Broadway. A 16-year-old was cited for hit-and-run property damage.
10:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a man who is legally blind was riding a 4-wheeler around with his son on the back.
10:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to remove kids from the skate park who were there after hours.
