Park field on Friday, July 31. The Old-Timers emerged triumphant, defeating the Viking girls, 9-5. The record is now 3-1 Old-Timers. Look for another exciting competition next year! Big winds and bad weather

August can be a trying month for fishing guides. Walleyes are being caught in the same places we would fish on the opener, as well as on the big lake and everywhere in-between. Most of the walleyes I have been finding are biting in the 16-20 foot range, but there are some good reports in places like James Bay, where we would normally find fish in May and June. Full Story

Hoopin' in the Harbor
Staff reports The 2009 Hoopin' in the Harbor and 3-Point Contest run by the Cook County Girls Basketball team was a success despite dealing with wind and one five-minute rain delay. The morning sky was cloudy as teams were registering for the event, but the rain held off until a blast hit at about 1:15, causing a short delay. Full Story
