MN Vikings have Twin Ports radio home
KQDS FM has announced that it will be the "Official Twin Ports Home" of the Minnesota Vikings for the 2009 - 2010 season, broadcasting every Minnesota Vikings game on 94.9 KQDS and "TheFan" 1490. 2009 Sawtooth Challenge MTB Race
Staff photos/Laurie Johnson The starting lineup of the Sawtooth Mountain Challenge in downtown Grand Marais on Sunday, August 23. The race leads bicyclists up a 600-foot vertical climb to Pincushion Mountains. Especially impressive were the young boys in the under 11 years group! Full Story
Where are the fish biting?
According to Buck's Hardware, walleyes are biting on Hungry Jack Lake in 20 feet of water, drifting leeches or minnows; on Brule Lake in 25 feet of water using jig and minnows during the day; on McFarland Lake in 15 feet of water drifting leech rigs; and on Elbow Lake in 8 to 10 feet of water using jig and minnow. Young, dumb and full of energy
The hunting seasons are just around the corner and yet there are ripe berries to be picked. This has truly been a bizarre summer. I am hoping for a nice mild fall to make up for the less than desirable weather this year. The walleye are biting just fine, but I am tired of the wind deciding where I can and cannot fish. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. Full Story
