Praying for rain
During the past three or four football seasons, we have dealt with an over-used football field that produces weeds and a barren dirt center way too early in our season. By the time the playoffs start, we are playing on a dirt track with whatever remaining grass we have left on the sidelines. Despite foggy weather, the first Gunflint Hills - Lions Club Three Person Scramble Tournament on Sunday, September 13 was a great success. Over 60 golfers turned out to play 18 holes and take a chance at a $10,000 hole-in-one. Full Story

The Viking volleyball team was busy last week with back-to-back away games at Lake View Christian Academy
on September 14 and Wrenshall on
September 15, then after a few days of
practices at home, they were back on the road traveling to Barnum to play in a tournament hosted by Barnum. Full Story
Ogilvie rematch tough on Vikings
Well, Vikings fans, there’s really no way to sugar coat the 52-8 loss suffered by the Vikings at the hands of the Ogilvie Lions at Lyle Anderson Field, on Friday, September 18. July was cold, wet, and windy and now we are seeing some hot and miserably humid days in the last week of September.
