Wins at Two Harbors and tournament for volleyball
On October 6, the Viking Volleyball team traveled to Two Harbors to take on the Two Harbors Agates. The Vikings played kind of sloppy but were able to pull off a win in four games 25-19, 19-25, 25-14 and 25-18. Leading the way for Cook County at Two Harbors was Brea Boomer with 11 kills and a huge 24 digs and Christina Nelson with 13 kills and 14 digs. Essa Jacobsen had 10 kills. Full Story
Exciting football action at Barnum
The Cook County Vikings football team traveled to Barnum on Friday, October 9, to take on the (4-2) Bombers. The Vikings were looking for their first win of the season and played their best game of the year, but unfortunately dropped a hard fought 30-26 decision. Full Story

Hunting seasons in full swing
Several hunting seasons are now underway. The Minnesota bear season continues until October 18. Moose season started on October 3 and continues until October 18. Deer hunting by bow opened September 19 and continues until December 31.
No stations have registered any deer as of Oct. 14. Full Story
