Arrowhead Trail bridge gets all-clear
The Pine River Bridge near the end of the Arrowhead Trail has three to four more years of life in it, according to an inspection by Erickson Engineering of Bloomington, MN, if it can get some new decking to hold it over.

Influenza hitting Cook County Schools
The H1N1 virus may be hitting the Cook County Schools campus. On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, Superintendent Beth Schwarz reported, “We’ve had a handful of kids go down today with high fevers.” An instant alert was sent out to district parents regarding the spread of the influenza-like illness. Grand Marais man found dead on County Road 14
A motorist discovered a car in the ditch on County Road 14 near the Trout Lake Road in Grand Marais at 7:34 a.m. on Sunday, October 18. Next to the car was Jeffrey Allan Hanson, 53, of Grand Marais, deceased. Full Story
