Historical Reflections
At one time Lutsen Resort offered one of the only year-round swimming pools in the county. It was a relaxing place to visit after a day of outdoor winter activities, with its pool dome. Since the election of Barack Obama, we have indeed seen a disturbing increase in the number of such personal expressions of racism in town hall meetings and right wing talk shows and these should concern us. Things are getting pretty quiet up here on the Trail and the weather was nice enough for some last chance fishing. After winterizing my guide boat last weekend, I thought I would not be able to bend a rod on open water until next spring.
