Awful weather—great running for Vikings
We thought the weather had been about as bad as it could get at Hibbing, but it was worse at Proctor. High 30s, windy, overcast and raining. The team just wanted to get in, race and get out. An exciting season for young volleyball girls
It was an exciting 2009 season for Cook County girls’ volleyball action, with 31 girls from fourth, fifth and sixth grade participating in the Cook County Community Education volleyball program. While the players worked hard on the core fundamentals of passing the volleyball, setting, serving, serve receiving and spiking, their number one goal was to have fun. Full Story

The Cook County Vikings football team got it done! They successfully pulled their season back from the brink of disaster with three solid games to end the season. After an injuryplagued 0-5 start, the Vikings finally got healthy and have begun playing much better down the stretch.

A number of local residents were among the top finishers in dirt bike racing in District 23, which includes the entire state of Minnesota. Cook County riders and their families spent many weekends at Echo Valley Moto Park in Brookston, MN. Full Story
