Opinion

Poetic ponderings

Passing through town the other day I could see smoke heading for the bay Down by the hospital I did stop and stare

For smoke encased the complex of our medical care

Off to drive bus my mind was thinking

Something seemed to be rotten and stinking

After my run I stopped by to enter The hallowed halls of our own care center I wasn’t sure what I would find

So I’d head for the front desk to pick their mind Through the hall I felt like in a bubble I knew that horrible smell was trouble At the desk they confirmed my fears Both workers there were almost in tears Down went the ventilator by a lad 'Cause the air outside was so very, very, bad And to be enlightened and just and fair I believe we passed laws for clean air

It is convenient said the council of Grand Marais

So smoke for the people and the MPCA
