Sentence to Serve benefits local agencies
During the months of July through September 2009, 604 hours of adult labor benefitted county, state, and federal agencies in Cook County through the Minnesota Department of Corrections Sentence to Serve program.
The estimated market value of the work was $8,530. It saved 67 jail days that would have cost the state $3,484 at $52 a day. Full Story

Bell ringing — a holiday tradition

This is the only fundraiser enabling Cook County’s Salvation Army service group to provide services in our community. In just one day, more than $14 million was raised for 3,434 Minnesota nonprofits—many in Cook County—during the first Give to the Max Day on Nov. 17.
