Boys’ basketball season starts Friday
The Cook County boys’ basketball team started practice on Monday, November 23. It was a tough week to start the season, with Thanksgiving break interrupting the team’s earlyseason physical conditioning. The Vikings practiced for three days and then had much of the team out of town for the four-day Thanksgiving break. Full Story

Fish & Wildlife Service funds Great Lake projects
On December 1, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced $590,190 in federal funding for fish and wildlife restoration projects in the Great Lakes Basin. The projects will be matched by $309,949 in partner contributions and will focus on the rehabilitation of sustainable populations of native fish and wildlife and their habitats. Full Story
