which highlighted the difficulties of earning a living on the North Shore, individual members of the Chateau LeVeaux Home Owner Association decided to make donations to the Cook County Health and Human Service Emergency Fund. The North Shore Federal Credit Union Giving Tree was a huge success, with community members demonstrating tremendous generosity toward others less fortunate. “We had 88 tags with gift requests for children, and the community came together and donated gifts for all tags plus more!” said Kari Merritt of the Credit Union. Celebrating the Winter Solstice
The crowd donned its winter’s best attire and gathered to watch the Good Harbor Hill Players shadow puppet show at North House Folk School on the Solstice, Monday, December 21. The play (inset) offered glimpses of the seasons on the North Shore, with humorous vignettes of the challenges of winter.

The First Baptist Church in Two Harbors invites North Shore community members to the Two Harbors Father- Daughter Ball, explaining that it will be a memorable evening for fathers and daughters to spend time together.
