The Cook County crosscountry ski team traveled to Korkki Nordic Ski Area Tuesday, January 5 for the Two Harbors Invitational. The meet included varsity, junior varsity, and junior high races. Eight schools showed up to compete in crisp, clear, calm conditions. There were some exciting highlights for the Vikings at the meet. Full Story

The Cook County boys’ basketball team split their two games last week with one win and one loss to bring the overall season record to 2-4. After losing to Moose Lake on the road 43-61, the Vikings responded three days later with an impressive 76-60 home win over the Carlton Bulldogs. Full Story

Brian Wallace named to national ski team
Brian Wallace of Woodbury is among 10 men and three women named to the World Junior Championship Team, which will compete in Nordic combined and ski jumping in Germany Jan. 25-31.
Wallace is the grandson of Delores and the late Lyle Saethre of Grand Marais. His parents are Mark and Kathy Wallace. Full Story
