Reminder for letters: Letters to the editor, columns, and cartoons are all the opinions of the contributors
and not necessarily the Cook County News-Herald. While we encourage readers
to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we ask that
letters include name, address, and phone number. The Cook County News-Herald may withhold a name to protect a letter writer, but will never run a letter
without knowing the identity of the author. Anonymous submissions or letters of
questionable credibility will not be published or acknowledged.
The Cook County News-Herald also asks that letters be no longer than 350 words,
however at the editor’s discretion, longer submissions may be published. All
letters are subject to editing for length, clarity, and libelous content.

Alternate work site a good decision
I applaud the Cook County commissioners for thinking outside the black and white box when they approved the “alternative work site agreement” for Sue Futterer, director of Public Health and Human Services. Full Story
Atheists are evangelists
Lou Jenson’s letter about the Good News is a tired old argument for atheism’s continued misinterpretation of who God is, and his eternal intentions. Atheists always confuse knowing about God with knowing God. In your own personal relationships there is a world of difference. Full Story
Freedom to believe
I failed to see any good news for the Cook County community in Lou Jenson’s letter. But then I believe in “fairy tales.” I am “superstitious” and I am a believer in the God who created this physical universe and revealed Himself to all humanity in what we call the Bible, or Word of God. Full Story
Faith validated
In response to Lou Jenson’s question “Is this a god to be respected?”
In Apostle John’s account of Lazarus’ death, John isolates two words, “Jesus wept.” Moved, observers said, “See how he loved him!” Full Story
