Vikings ousted by Spartans in Section 7A Semifinals—
finish season with 23-5 record
On Wednesday, March 10, the Cook County girls’ basketball team took on the Nashwauk- Keewatin Spartans in the Section 7A Semifinals at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The Vikings had a tough time in the final minutes against the senior-laden Spartans, losing a closely contested game, 53-61. Nashwauk would go on to win the Section 7A championship. Full Story
Mariners sink Vikings in playoffs
The Cook County boys’ basketball team lost its second round playoff game to the Silver Bay Mariners, 46-50. On Thursday, March 11 in Esko, the Vikings couldn’t match the Mariners’ intensity in the final minutes, losing a closely contested game to bring the Vikings’ overall season record to 8-13. Full Story
