complete accounting of names and
penalties in its Matters of Record.

Matters of Record
The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform
the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which
the potential punishment exceeds $100 and/or 10 days in jail. All fines
have additional surcharges and fees and may be much higher. Full Story
Census facts about Cook County
In 2008, 78.3% of Cook County residents owned their home, a percentage greater than the statewide average of 74.6%. Median household income for that year was $46,406 versus $57,318 for the rest of the state, however. Some 9.1% of Cook County residents fell below the poverty line while 9.6% percent lived below poverty levels throughout Minnesota. Full Story
Conservation Officer Tales
Although the Cook County News-Herald knows that the majority of sportsmen
and women are law-abiding folks, there are a few who run afoul of the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officers.
