Grand Portage Tribal Council seat goes to Hull

Robert “Rob” Hull won the election for a vacant Grand Portage Reservation Tribal Council (RTC) seat in the primary election held Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Because Hull received over 50% of the vote, he immediately wins the vacant RTC councilman seat. He will not have to run again in the general election on June 8. Full Story

Burning ban goes into effect April 5

Common sense tells northlanders to be extremely careful with fire because our forests are getting dry. However, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) wants to make it very clear that fire danger, with the exception of far southeastern counties, is high.
