CORRECTIONS:

In Cory Christiansen’s May 15, 2010 Tails from the Trail, it was incorrectly stated that Minnesota fishing regulation changes meant no walleye fishing would be allowed on lakes outside or partly outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) including all of Clearwater, East Bearskin, Magnetic, Saganaga, Seagull and Snowbank after March 31, 2010, with the same winter season in 2011. Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officer Mary Manning said the change applies only to lake trout, not walleye. Manning directs fishermen to the 2010 Minnesota Fishing Regulation booklet, Border Waters section beginning on page 48. The News-Herald apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.

In the May 15, 2010 letter to the editor Commissioners should do their homework from Tod Sylvester, the following statement was inadvertently changed: "Commissioners have 36 meetings per year and make $555.55 per meeting plus health insurance. If they attend extra meetings they get paid more. It’s easy to make $45,000 a year attending four meetings a week." [Commissioners have 36 regular meetings each year, with additional meetings as deemed necessary]. The News-Herald apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.
