Cook County junior Zack Twiest didn’t finish as high as he would have hoped at the state golf meet, but the fact he made it is quite an achievement. The weather this June has been downright forgettable. Even when we get a nice day of weather, we still get at least a two-hour dose of rain. As a father of four, it has been tough to get outside and enjoy all that Cook County has to offer. This past week of guiding has been a rollercoaster of fishing. One day they are jumping into the boat and the next day there is very little action of any kind. Guiding is a funny business to be in. If you slam fish, like we have been in Northern Light Lake, the customers leave thinking you are some kind of Jedi master fisherman and they are ready to name their first born child after you. Canoe racing tradition continues July 21
