Reminder for letters: Letters to the editor, columns, and cartoons are all the opinions of the contributors
and not necessarily the Cook County News-Herald. While we encourage readers
to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we ask that
letters include name, address, and phone number. The Cook County News-Herald may withhold a name to protect a letter writer, but will never run a letter
without knowing the identity of the author. Anonymous submissions or letters of
questionable credibility will not be published or acknowledged.
The Cook County News-Herald also asks that letters be no longer than 350 words,
however at the editor’s discretion, longer submissions may be published. All
letters are subject to editing for length, clarity, and libelous content.
County needs creative, inventive commissioner
Keith Kuckler would be an excellent county commissioner. He is familiar with many aspects of county activities, has widespread interests, and thinks. He has worked to protect the environment during his numerous years on the Cook County Planning Commission. His ability to think critically and creatively to come up with workable solutions to problems is clearly an asset. Full Story

Shared driveway language change not needed
Regarding the county’s proposed changes to the subdivision ordinance: As a Cook County taxpayer and employer of contractors, I would like to express my objection to the subdivision ordinance changes being proposed. Specifically, on page 24, Section 9, the words “and shared driveways”
