to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we ask that
letters include name, address, and phone number. The Cook County News-Herald may withhold a name to protect a letter writer, but will never run a letter
without knowing the identity of the author. Anonymous submissions or letters of
questionable credibility will not be published or acknowledged.
The Cook County News-Herald also asks that letters be no longer than 350 words,
however at the editor’s discretion, longer submissions may be published. All
letters are subject to editing for length, clarity, and libelous content.

Chik Wauk Museum is not in the wilderness
I had to stop and re-read the July 10, 2010 letter to the editor from Commissioner Jim Johnson about the Chik Wauk Museum and Nature Center being a “gem” in the wilderness. I was puzzled—has the old Chik Wauk Lodge building been moved? The last time I visited the Chik Wauk Lodge was not in the wilderness, but a mile or so away from it. Full Story
Affordable land an issue for local farmers
