and not necessarily the Cook County News-Herald. While we encourage readers
to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we ask that
letters include name, address, and phone number. The Cook County News-Herald may withhold a name to protect a letter writer, but will never run a letter
without knowing the identity of the author. Anonymous submissions or letters of
questionable credibility will not be published or acknowledged.
The Cook County News-Herald also asks that letters be no longer than 350 words,
however at the editor’s discretion, longer submissions may be published. All
letters are subject to editing for length, clarity, and libelous content.
Supervisor doesn’t speak for all citizens

Self defense and weapon training needed
In light of recent talk on security issues I am concerned and frustrated as to how we are going about it. There is talk on limiting access. Locking doors, etc., wouldn’t stop anyone. Lock all doors, if someone wants in, they will find a way. They could wait for you to go to your car or home, etc. You can’t be 100% safe all of the time. Full Story
