Local resources to save big bucks on Community Connection into park
Grand Marais Park Manager Dave Tersteeg is ready to finalize plans for a “Community Connection” pathway leading from Highway 61 into the east end of the park and down to the waterfront. The pathway is intended to connect campers with downtown Grand Marais and welcome residents into the park as well as keep sediment from running into the marina. Full Story

Council approves first business loan for The Garage

Big equipment replacements for Highway Department
Big jobs require big equipment.
On February 14, 2012 the county board gave County Engineer David Betts and Maintenance Supervisor Russell Klegstad the go-ahead to purchase a new front end loader at a cost of $164,574 and two dump trucks with snow removal equipment at a total cost of $470,013. Grant writing workshop Feb. 22
The Cook County Community Fund, an affiliate fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, will host a grant writing workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Cook County Higher Education Building in Grand Marais.
