Joseph R. Sierakowski

Joseph R. Sierakowski, 86, of Grand Marais, formerly of St. Paul, went to be with God in his eternal peace with his family around him September 24, 2015.

Joe is survived by Corrine (Raschke) his wife of 65 years; sisters Valerie Connor and Kathleen MacKenzie; children Cheryl Mattson (Craig), Michael Sierakowski (Kathy), Mark Sierakowski (Veronica), Carol Stark (Brian), Jim Sierakowski and Julie Killian (Tony) along with grandchildren Arlen Stark, Karen Jurgensen, Christina Mattson, Jackie Mackenthun, Justine, Mitchell, Emily and David Sierakowski, Madeline, Jack and Meredith Killian as well as four great-grandchildren.

Joe served his country in the Korean War, was a decorated veteran and a 25-year employee of 3M.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, October 2 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to Mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 515 S. Albert Street, St. Paul. Private interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials to Gunflint Trail Fire and Rescue.
