The game was played in Barnum.

Senior outside hitter Meredith Sutton led the team with 15 kills. Junior middle hitter Alyssa Lashinski had nine kills and senior Abby Prom finished with 31 set assists.

Although the Vikings swept the Bombers, the games were close. The Vikings won 25-22, 25-18 and 25-22. Before the contest was played the Barnum coach was quoted in the Duluth News-Tribune that he had a good club this year, but they wouldn’t know how good they were until they faced the Section 7A champion Viking team.

On Thursday, September 7, the Vikings traveled to Esko to play the Eskimos. The Vikings play Mountain Iron-Buhl at 6:30 p.m. at home on Tuesday, September 12. They also host the Moose Lake/Willow River team on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. Come out and cheer for your Vikings!
