Steven D. Petman

 

 

Steven D. Petman, age 72, of Monticello, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Kevin Magner as Celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date at Field Township Cemetery, near Cook, MN. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Steven Donald Petman was born October 19, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Donald and Corrine (Danielson) Petman, the eldest of 5 children. As a young boy, Steven moved with his family to International Falls. While attending high school, Steven was an avid hockey player and fan. In 1969, Steven graduated from International Falls High School. He then attended Rainy River Community College. Steven lived at St. Andrew’s home, and worked for Options in Big Lake for many years. Steven loved to fish, hunt, and travel, especially to the family cabin on Lake Kabetogama. He enjoyed bingo, playing guitar, riding his bike, a Subway sand­wich, and a stop at Sammy’s Pizza. Steven’s faith was central to his life, as he had a deep love of the Lord. He continued to grow his faith during his entire life, and was a member of Fr. O’Brien’s Council #3613 Knights of Columbus. Steven will lovingly be remembered as a kind and positive person. No matter what circumstances he was faced with, when asked, he would respond with his upbeat personality that he was always having a good day.

Steven is survived by his siblings, Catherine (Dennis) Larson of Kabetogama, Theresa (Jim) Mikelson of Buffalo, Jeffery Petman of Duluth, and Phillip Petman of Kabetogama; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Steven’s family will serve as casket bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
