There weren’t a lot of pictures of activities and events in the earlier papers, instead there was a lot of short columns about the goings on of the day. In this short article one can see that the kids participated in basketball, but the games were among kids from Grand Portage, Blue Fin (West End) Maple Hill and Grand Marais, and the kids didn’t travel out of the county. The games were described at times as a mixture of basketball and football, and must have been a lot of fun to play and watch.
