Bev Denyes (Bev – Nana)

Bev Denyes passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3rd at the Cook County Care Center.
Bev was born September 25th, 1931, in Duluth, MN. Attended Duluth Central high school and moved to Cook County her junior year. Bev made her home and raised her family in Grand Marais. Serving the community in many ways. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for all 3 of her son’s Cub Scout dens and a 70-year active member of the United Church of Christ (Congregational Church.)
Bev’s employment with Bell Telephone started in the 1950’s as a switchboard operator where she ascended to the Grand Marais office secretary, and she retired as the North Shore office manager. Bev also worked briefly at Mike’s Holiday Station as well as the TIP of the Arrowhead Information Center and in the kitchen at the old senior center.
Bev was very active in city council garden club, Lioness, Legion Auxiliary Club and many community and church projects for over 50 years.
Bev was preceded in Death by her parents Frank and Helen Kreiner, sisters Barbara, Dolly and Maxine and brother Jimmy. Husband Michel Beaupre and ex-husband Jerry Jacobsen and great granddaughter Carolyne Jensen.
She is survived by her loving sons; Keith (Wendy) Jacobsen, Marty Jacobsen, and Dean Jacobsen. Grandchildren; Melissa Jacobsen (Chris Jensen), Adam Jacobsen, Dusty Garon, Vanessa Jacobsen, (Israel Moreno), Stein Jacobsen (Mady), Allie Jacobsen and Audrey Jacobsen. Great grandchildren: Marley, Mercedes, Lilly, Ellis, Isabella. Many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at the Cook County Care Center.
A memorial service will be held in the Congregational Church basement on Saturday, May 4th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Light lunch, dessert and refreshments will be served.
