BWCAW Trail Organization Readies Leaders for 2025 Season
More than twenty Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness enthusiasts gathered at a Leadership Retreat in Ely, MN, this past weekend. The event was the third annual, and the second held at Camp Widjiwagan on Burntside Lake, on the edge of the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in northern Minnesota. The hosting organization was the Boundary Waters Advisory Committee (“BWAC”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that restores, maintains, and advocates for Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness trails.


Gunflint Lodge Celebrates 100 Years on the Gunflint Trail with the Grand Opening of the Northern Lights Lodge
Gunflint Lodge and Outfitters is thrilled to announce a milestone event: the celebration of its Centennial anniversary and the grand opening of the new Northern Lights Lodge. The festivities will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at Gunflint Lodge, located along the historic Gunflint Trail.

Celebrate the joy of snowmobiling at the 20th annual Grand Portage Lodge and Casino Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids
Snowmobilers will hit the trails on February 8, 2025 for the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids. Once again, the Thunder Bay Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids will head south of the border to Grand Portage, only 45 minutes from Thunder Bay, attracting snowmobilers from across northwestern Ontario and Minnesota to enjoy some of the finest groomed trails in northern Minnesota.
