North House kicked off its three day 2024 Unplugged celebration with a Community Open House and grand opening for the new Welcome Center. “After a year of collaborating with many local contractors and builders, it just felt right to have our Community Open House be not only the start of Unplugged but also the first time the full building was available for the public to explore,” said Greg Wright, North House’s Executive Director. “When I ordered carrot cake for 450 some of the staff wondered if my eyes were getting too big, but within two hours every slice had vanished. Having friends and neighbors checking out every corner and even exploring our new staff offices felt great!”

Grand Marais, MN– Letteracy Deck, Grand Marais’ free letter writing park, had its second record- breaking season. Its founder expects to have mailed more than 7,000 cards and letters over its two summers of operation, from opening day June 21, 2023 and season close this year on Oct. 28.
