Lepidopterists visit Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China in 1993
In April of 1993, I received a letter that a delegation of butterfly specialists and enthusiasts would travel to China under the auspices of the Citizen Ambassador Program of People to People International. The purpose was to meet and interact with Chinese scientific community members interested in butterfly systematics, evolution, ecology, and conservation. A follow-up letter stated that delegation members would be allowed to observe and collect butterfly specimens and participate in various meetings and presentations.
