Community Column a great addition to downtown Grand Marais

The “Community Column” was recently installed in downtown Grand Marais. The public sculpture, by Lutsen artist Greg Mueller, has been a year-long project. In 2023 Mueller was awarded a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant to create a public art work that included a community engagement component. With the support of the Grand Marais Art Colony, Mueller held (3) workshops at “Studio 21” inviting Cook County High School, GES School and Cook County community members to participate in creating the sculpture’s content.
