10 YEARS AGO JULY 12, 2014 * The Cook County/Grand Marais Development Authority (EDA) listened to presentations by Jeff Corey of One Roof Community Housing and Rick Klun of /Center City Housing Corp at the Tuesday, July 8 board meeting. Both organizations are non-profits that develop and operate a variety of housing options in the Greater Duluth area.

Third Annual Lutsong Music Festival

Lutsong Productions, LLC is pleased to announce its third annual event, the Lutsong Music Festival, to be held in Lutsen, Minn. on Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21 with 18 acts scheduled to play non-stop music at Caribou Highlands Lodge and the North Shore Winery located on Ski Hill Road in Lutsen. In addition to great music, attendees will enjoy the vendor village, a bronze metal pour, nightly campfires, a NEW foraging activity, food, and beverages.

Haiku Reading and Workshop at the Library

Poet Sandra Hisakuni will share from The Northland Beckons, her haikus about the Boundary Waters The Grand Marais Public Library invites people of all ages to learn about haiku from poet Sandra Hisakuni on Saturday, July 13, from 12:30-2 p.m. Hisakuni will read from her book of haikus, The Northland Beckons, revealing her inspiration from both Japan and the Boundary Waters, as well as proclaiming the power of haiku to create profound connection and lasting memories.

Public Engagement Period for the Tofte Landscape Project Implementation Cycle 2 begins

The Superior National Forest is beginning the public engagement period for the Tofte Landscape Project’s Implementation Cycle 2. The engagement period runs from today, Monday, July 1 through Friday, August 2, 2024. During this time, interested public can provide input towards finalizing vegetation management treatments for the second implementation cycle. Unplugged ‘24 Celebrates Craft & Community this September
