This year’s Summer Solstice and Wooden Boat Festival, taking place June 21-22, continues favorite traditions while bringing a greater focus on hands-on craft opportunities for all.

German Editors Discover the Heart of Minnesota’s North Shore
In partnership with Explore Minnesota and Brand USA, Visit Cook County had the opportunity to host a German media familiarization tour, also known as FAM tours, for an afternoon in Grand Marais. This transatlantic rendezvous was made possible by a partnership between Explore Minnesota and Brand USA, capitalizing on Lufthansa's new direct flights from Frankfurt to Minneapolis-St.
Girl Scouts celebrate annual Mother-Daughter High Tea
Local Girl Scouts welcomed spring with their annual Mother-Daughter high tea. Mothers, grandmothers, and sisters from Troop #4112, #4111, and #4070 were treated to a Mad Hatter Tea Party on April 27th at the Hovland Town Hall.

School Board Meeting The School Board of I.S.D. 166 will meet for a Regular School Board Meeting Thursday, June 20th, 2024 at 5:00 pm, in the Jane Mianowski Conference Center, 101 West 5th Street, Grand Marais, MN.
Memberships and more at Cook County ATV Club gathering
The Cook County ATV Club is holding its annual membership meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 at Skyport Lodge on Devil Track Lake. This event is an annual meeting, but it’s also an annual celebration. Community members are invited to join the ATV Club or renew their memberships, vote for board members, visit with friends, and take a chance at some fun raffle items. When the raffle drawings are done (at about 2 p.m.), everyone is invited to hit the trails for a ride to Hungry Jack Lodge.
