The Bike Safety Rodeo has become a much loved and anticipated annual event in Grand Marais, bringing families and children from across the county together to help kids learn how to bike safely. Each year this event is possible thanks to community volunteers and this year, we need you! Over twenty volunteers are needed to make this event happen and there are still many roles available.
Construction to align a portion of Mile Creek Road and construct a new bridge over Grand Portage Creek will begin on May 28, 2024, with anticipated completion in Fall 2024. The National Park Service published a Finding of No Significance Impact (FONSI) for the project on March 21, 2023.

Press Release by Boundary Waters Advisory Committee More than twenty Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness enthusiasts attended a ‘Spring Hike and Camp’ this past Saturday at Cleary Lake Regional Park in Prior Lake, MN. The hosting organization was the Boundary Waters Advisory Committee (BWAC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that restores, maintains, and advocates for Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness trails.
On Friday, April 26, the Flintlock Range Association had its first membership event hosted at Up Yonder from 5:00 7:00 p.m. The event was well attended, with over 100 people there showing support for the organization.
Ethan Henry Tate is the son of Sara Tate, Grand Marais. Ethan participated in baseball and football during school and worked for Tire & Auto for work-study.
BRIAN LARSEN This past Saturday, April 20, the community came together to celebrate Earth Day at the local high school. The gymnasium was full of displays and ideas about how to improve this ellipsoid sphere we are all traveling on during the Earth Day celebration.
