Prevent conflicts with bears this spring by being BearWise

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is encouraging homeowners to remove birdfeeders now and check their property for food sources that could attract bears. While most of the female bears with cubs and yearlings are still near their denning areas, the mild winter has caused some full-grown bears to emerge from dens early to look around or find a quick, high-calorie snack.

Celebration planned for Rev. Roger Livdahl

Beginning Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, Salem English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota is launching a storytelling and fundraising campaign event in celebration of Rev. Roger Livdahl’s six decades of ministry and the 50th Anniversary of ELCA World Hunger and its predecessor organizations. Spanning seven weeks, the event will feature: Remembrances from his 65 years of servant leadership—including his ministry with ELCA World Hunger—during Salem’s Sunday worship services and through online channels.

Praise for the hospital board, rather than the usual criticism, was the only public comment at the March 21 North Shore Health Hospital board of director’s meeting. Dr. Milan Schmidt, was all smiles as he gestured at the newly purchased microphones placed in front of everyone a the board table. Dr. Schmidt, a retired Sawtooth Mountain Clinic physician, is an announced candidate for a seat on the board in November. He lauded the board and management for being accommodating to guests with hearing disabilities. A few members of the audience and the board applauded.
