Oktoberfest Fun Oom Paa Paa! The best time was had on October 13th with plenty of toe tapping during Oktoberfest with lots of polkas and other lively tunes played by our wonderful interactive Tom Novotny on his accordion. We had pretzels and nice cold beer.

A time to learn about healing

On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20 21, at the Cook County Community Center, several dozen people, many of whom work for the county, clergy, schools, and law enforcement, participated in a two-day experiential, interactive training session to learn about creating and facilitating healing circles. The class was taught by Dr. Emily Gaarder, the Director of the Center for Restorative Justice and Peacemaking at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Cook County Education Foundation announces the date for E.A.T.s

The Cook County Schools Education Foundation wants to announce that Thursday, March 7, is the date for their annual fundraiser, E.A.T.S (Enriching Academic Through Sustenance). This event is an opportunity for ticket holders to eat tasty samples provided by local restaurants and food vendors, in addition to supporting the students of ISD 166 by purchasing a ticket and bidding on the many silent auction items always available.
