Grand Portage State Park – Middle Falls hike

On September 13 the Happy Hikers will hike the Middle Falls Trail at Grand Portage State Park. The Middle Falls Trail is a rugged 4.5-mile round-trip hike. This challenging trail leads to a beautiful 20-foot waterfall. The trail passes over ridgetops, through heavily wooded forests and along the banks of the Pigeon River, with breathtaking views of the river gorge and Lake Superior. Allow three to four hours to fully appreciate the rugged beauty of this trail. We will have lunch after the hike back at the picnic area at the Visitor Center. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, on a leash.
