The play was performed for several classes at the Lutheran Church building.
Michael Valentini, Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department Cook County Search and Rescue The quest to enjoy the beauty of our north woods and the proximity to the BWCAW draws many to Cook County. Unfortunately, not everyone experiences the idyllic adventure they envisioned and occasionally there are tragedies to deal with. When that happens, a page goes out to the volunteers of the Cook County Search and Rescue (CCSAR) team for assistance. These are unselfish volunteers who will drop whatever they are doing to lend a hand to those in need.
The Happy Hikers will hike the Shovel Point Trail at Tettegouche State Park on July 19. This 1 (plus) mile hike starts at the visitor center and follows the rugged Lake Superior shoreline along a clifftop. We will end at the tip of the point with a stunning view of Palisade Head to the west. Uneven terrain, wooden stairs and boardwalk.
