Cook County I.S.D. 166 special education teacher Melissa Oberg, known for her exceptional dedication and innovative teaching methods, was recently featured in the April edition of the American School Board Journal, an award-winning magazine published four times a year in February, April, August, and October. The April 2025 issue of the ASBJ, a publication that reaches over 90,000 school board members and administrators, celebrated the achievements of the Magna Award winners. Among them was Melissa Oberg, the 2024 National Rural Teacher of the Year, a title that underscores the profound impact of her work in the field of special education.

This film has the potential to shed new light on this important period in history. A big part of that film is finding archival material from that time, particularly video footage.
