New Video and Lobbying Efforts Bring State Bonding Tour to Cook County
The Lutsen Township Board met on August 19 at the Lutsen Town Hall and heard a report from Fire and EMS Chief Steve Duclos. Steve said that the EMS had responded to eight calls, the Fire Department had responded to five calls, and there was one search and rescue call in the last month. Training included learning how and when to use Narcan and EpiPens, responding to behavioral crises, and alpine bistro and rope training.
School shopping is well underway with kids getting backpacks, pencils, notebooks, markers, and other school supplies to start the new school year. Haircuts, hairdos, new jeans and dresses, and the latest in cool shoes are also a usual part of the shopping spree.
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) Board convened on August 20 in the commissioner’s room in the courthouse. The board, led by HRA Director Jeff Brand, took a crucial step by authorizing the initiation of planning for a diverse array of housing options.
