Structure fire destroys Grand Marais laundromat
Grand Marais, MN – On October 10, 2024, Cook County Dispatch received numerous calls about a fire in the Cedar Grove Business Park. When deputies arrived, the fire was at the North Shore Laundry Services building on Cedar Grove Lane.

NOAA collects eDNA samples from local rivers and the Big Lake
This summer, on an NOAA vessel in Lake Michigan, Doug and Mary Sanders's grandson Cristian and the University of Minnesota Wildlife Fishery team tested eDNA in 16 river tributaries for alewife. Such is a primary food source for Great Lakes salmon.
