School Traffic Safety With the return of in-person schooling for the children of the community, we at the Cook County Sheriff ’s office want to take this time and offer some tips for school traffic safety. The current drop-off and pick-up areas for ISD 166 including Great Expectations are located on County Road 7, also known as 5th Street between the Gunflint Trail and 4th Avenue West.

Grand Marais City Council disapproves a second Bjorkberg PUD and preliminary plat

The Grand Marais City Council met on Wednesday, August 28, 24, to vote on a new Bjorkberg PUD and Preliminary Plat request and conditional use permit for water and sewer hook-up to the city. During the council's August 14 meeting, the council voted 3-2 to deny a Scandinavian- themed townhome buildings with 19 housing units.
