In remembrance of our mom, Betty Schutte, who left us on February 28, 2023. Betty was born May 2, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Barbara Bielawski.

Michael James Smith, 53, passed away on January 28th with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike worked for thirty plus years at the Cook County Recycling Center where he loved interacting with the community and meeting people.

In Loving Memory of Byron Arthur Moren November 18, 1927 December 20, 2023 Byron Arthur Moren, age 96, of Ely, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2023. A life well lived, he will be deeply missed by family and friends. Byron was born in Biwabik, MN, to Arthur and Jennie Moren on November 18, 1927. At the age of 7, after the loss of his father, his family relocated to Virginia, MN, where he attended school with his younger brother and sister, Thomas and Margaret.

Karen Lashinski, 81, loving wife and mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She had been battling pancreatic cancer.

Jon Wayne Warren, age 62, of Waseca, died, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home in Waseca. Born on August 10, 1961, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of Jack and Judy (Lushenko) Warren.

She faced her cancer diagnosis and death with what Graydon Carter, writing about Christopher Hitchens, termed a “saucy fearlessness.” She was 42 years old and wryly entertained by the idea that her age was 'the answer to the meaning of life, the universe and everything,' to quote The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Rex M. Kastner, 67, formerly of rural Bovey, died Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Northwood Villa Assisted Living, Coleraine, surrounded by his family.
