The Home & the Heart What is home? They say home is where the heart is, but what if your heart lies in separate places? There are many thoughts in culture about what “home” is – if you are nomadic or communal, this concept will look much different than if you are stationary with allotted ownership of house and land. I sometimes begin to wonder if home is simply within these flesh and bone bodies… and how could it not be? In our own body is the only completely certain space in which we, as beings of energy and light at our purest essence, will reside for our entire journey on this planet revolving around the giant star that is our Sun.

Recently, the hospital board met in private to discuss potentially suing Cook County community members over various statements made about OUR public hospital. Any board member that votes to allow the silencing of the community through threats of a lawsuit should be removed, and any administration official that pushes a lawsuit against the ability of the public to speak out ought to be removed from their positions.

Cook County Year-End Update Over the last 12 months Cook County Government has made good progress on two major initiatives that will position the organization to continue to provide high quality public services as the county continues to grow. A capital improvement planning process that the County initiated in 2022 was completed this past spring with significant input from the County’s Budget and Facilities Advisory Committee and county residents.
