Excitement is surrounding the Vikings' girls basketball program this year. And, it’s not going to be about wins and losses, but a chance to see the kids play a lot of home games as the program comes back to full strength.
The North Shore Storm had two representatives at the state cross country meet, a prestigious event that has been a highlight of the local sports calendar for many years. The meet, which was held on November 2, 2024, at the Lee Bolstad Golf Course, saw participation from top runners across the state.
Two seniors from the 10-13 Vikings' girl's volleyball team were named to the All-Conference volleyball team. Players are slected by area coaches who see them play against their teams.

The future of the team looks promising, especially with the outstanding performance of two of our runners, Nick Swartz and Sophia Schut, who have qualified for the state cross country meet on November 2 at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course.
The North Shore Storm cross country boys and girls teams posted great results at the Proctor Invitational. The Boys and Girls Junior High teams took first place, the Junior Varsity Girls team placed second, and the Junior Varsity Boys placed first with a perfect score of 15.
The Vikings knew they had a tall order ahead of them when they traveled to Mountain Iron-Buhl last Saturday to face the defending 9-man State Champions.
The 21-member 5th/6thgrade volleyball team wrapped up their successful season last week. The season included a 4-match series with Silver Bay, and a tournament in Cloquet.
