Tim Norman took this great picture of an 802 Airtractor “FireBOSS” picking up 800 gallons of water out of Taconite Harbor for the wildfire in George H. Crosby Manitou Park. This was one of four planes that were working out of the harbor to control the blaze that was reported on Wednesday and grew to 50 acres on Thursday, Oct. 9. The Forest Service and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources were working to contain the blaze. At the time of this reporting, there was a known cause of the fire. Photo courtesy of Tim Norman
