Do you want to know why David Johnson gets so many incredible night sky pictures? Or, for that matter, so many great photographs of animals, plants, and birds of all feathers? His secret is having a good eye and putting in lots of time. David, a retired Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fisheries worker who has lived his whole life in Cook County, had five cameras to get this Aurora display and took over 8000 photos. He sent ten or so of those awesome photos to the paper but noted, 'So I will be busy going through them. The colors went from greens to the full spectrum of colors; I started at 9 p.m. Sunday and got home at 5:30 a.m. Monday morning, still tired, so here are a few I have looked at.” One of the photos captures the Northern Lights in all their glory, with vibrant hues of green, purple, and blue dancing across the night sky.
