In the dark jersey in the center of the picture, Hunter Gomez was the lone player to represent the Cook County Vikings varsity baseball team in the recent Polar League All-Star baseball game played at Wade Stadium on June 18. As a senior, Hunter Gomez played shortstop and pitched on the Vikings' baseball team. Next fall, the versatile Gomez will attend William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on a baseball scholarship.
